Founded by hospitality veterans and longtime friends Ryan O'Donnell, Jon Farrer, and Glenn Keefer, Sophia Steak first opened in Wilmette in 2020, followed by Lake Forest in 2022 and its Chicago location in 2025. The menu goes beyond its centerpiece of prime steaks with fresh seafood, substantial salads, classic sides, daily specials, cocktails, and indulgent desserts—all served in a polished but comfortable setting.
The Chicago restaurant is part of Ballyhoo Hospitality and brings the group's neighborhood-driven approach to the heart of River North.
